No one can hear the story of Paul's early life and conversion without being duly impressed that he is rather obviously the most effective apostle of them all. He was a church planter par excellence and a man driven to share the gospel with the whole world-from cradle to grave in one sense, from spiritual rebirth to martyrdom. Regardless of what impression you have of Paul going into this study, you will see things about him that you have never seen and be left in awe of a man whose life changed far more radically than you ever imagined. When he uttered those famous words, "Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1, NASB), he offered no qualifiers (as we often do, such as "only imitate the Christ-like part of me"). This study will convince you that no one imitated Jesus as closely as did Paul, and he leaves behind an example of radical change for us that takes away all of our excuse-making and rationalization.
